Foundation supports indigents with foodstuffs, cash in Lagos community

A foundation, Precious Hope Inc., USA, has supported some residents of Makoko, in Yaba Local Government Area of Lagos State with foodstuffs and cash.

The founder of the organisation, Dr Kayode Abegunde, who resides in the United States of America, noted that as a result of the high cost of essential needs such as food, the foundation saw the need to come up with an initiative to help the people cope the economic hardship in the country at the moment.

Abegunde, an Insurance expert said: “Our goal is to feed as many underprivileged as we can reach out to. Today, it is the turn of residents of Makoko. We are making arrangements to reach out to a good number of underprivileged people in other parts of Lagos State and will also extend the gesture to other parts of the country.”

During the distribution in Makoko, some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the foundation for supporting them at this critical time with what God has blessed them with.

One of the beneficiaries said: “I want to thank Dr Kayode Abegunde for lending a hand of support at this time when we are faced by serious drought in terms of finance and food to eat.

“What we were given here today will, in no small measure, cushion the effect of the present economic situation in the country on us.

“On behalf of other recipients, I thank him and all members of Precious Hope Inc. USA. We are grateful and we pray that Almighty God will continue to bless him.”
