Foundation supports 55 female cancer patients in Kaduna

A Kaduna-based foundation has supported 55 female cancer patients with financial support to cushion the high cost of treatment.

Established in memory of the late journalist Hassana Yakubu, the foundation commemorated the milestone by extending medical and financial assistance to female cancer patients battling the disease without adequate resources.

Since its inception on February 24, 2024, Hassy’s Haven Foundation has made significant strides in providing support to cancer patients.

Hussaina Yakubu the coordinator of the Hassy’s Haven Foundation said they decided to assist the female patients in view of the fact that treating cancer is very expensive, saying that even if you have the money is not easy at all.

She said,”Today is the one anniversary of my late twin sister who died as a result of the disease. I want to immortalize her by reaching out to cancer patients to support them because I know what they are going through.

“We have reached out to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), supporting 25 indigent female cancer patients.

“Also we have doled out financial assistance for 30 cancer patients at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital.”

According to her we will continue to embark on awareness campaigns and hold health talks on cancer
