Students attending summer coaching class in Kwara state have been charged to be committed to their future by devoting their time and energy to academic studies.
Addressing students at the seventh edition of the Tajudeen Olesin Foundation’s free summer lesson at Government Day Secondary School, Amule in the Ilorin East local government area of the state, founder of the group, Ambassador (Dr.) Alhaji Ibrahim Shola Tajudeen, urged the students, comprising JSS I to SSS III classes, to be dedicated to their studies.
Ambassador Tajudeen, who advised the youth to be circumspect in determining their future ambition, said that a brighter and better future could be easily secured through commitment to their studies at this stage of their life.
He also reminded the youth about special gift and scholarship to be awarded to best performing students, saying that all these would be determined via an examination scheduled to come up later during the summer class period.
The educationist, who also met with teachers, implored them to be good role models for the pupils, saying that doing this would further enable pupils to have an everlasting memory about them.
Tajudeen also reiterated his commitment to welfare of teachers and pledged special gift to best teachers during the period. He appealed to them to be fair in selecting best students that will be given scholarships across all the classes.
He also paid a visit to the education secretary of the Ilorin East local government to appreciate warm reception, while he seized the opportunity to express appreciation to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq-led administration for creating a conducive environment.
Responding on behalf of the teachers, Mr. Ibrahim Baruba, expressed gratitude to Ambassador Tajudeen for choosing the path of nurturing younger generation for a prosperous future and a better society, while he also appreciated coordinators for working with qualified teachers.
He commended unbiased selection of tutors across all the Wards in the Ilorin East and Kwara Central as well as gifts to exemplary teachers.
