The Green Revolution Farmers Feed the Nation Foundation (GRFFNF), in collaboration with commercial banks, has launched an agricultural project aimed at empowering farmers in Nigeria.
The project, tagged “Green Rewards: Agricultural Farming Project Fund and Empowerment Scheme,” was unveiled at a press briefing in Abuja.

The Chairman Board of Trustees and Director General of GRFFNF, Amb. Jonathan David Okwudiri, during the briefing, disclosed that the foundation has established functional Multi-Purpose Cooperative Societies Limited across major cities and states in Nigeria, with over one million membership strength of women and youth.
He also said the GRFFNF has introduced a customized prepaid ATM card that allows farmers to access funds loaded onto the card, eliminating the need for cash or travel, as the foundation has partnered with Zenith Bank Plc, Polaris Bank Ltd, and Fidelity Bank Plc to provide financial support to farmers.
“The foundation will provide grants to farmers to support their agricultural activities. The GRFFNF will also provide financial literacy training to farmers, empowering them to manage their finances effectively.”
“The scheme is expected to increase agricultural productivity, improve livelihoods, and contribute to food security in Nigeria. By providing easy access to financial resources, the customized prepaid ATM card will enable farmers to invest in their farms, leading to increased productivity and income.”
“The GRFFNF has called on the Nigerian government, financial institutions, corporate organizations, and international funding agencies to partner with them in supporting the scheme.”
“The GRFFNF has also announced its upcoming 5-Day Royal Ambassadors Gathering Week Abuja 2025, themed “Building Global Partnership for Sustainable Impact, Innovations, and Development.” The event will take place from April 8th to 12th, 2025, at the Maryam Babangida National Center for Women Development Abuja.”
“In addition to the launch of the agricultural project, the GRFFNF also unveiled its plans to establish farm settlements in various regions of Nigeria.
“The farm settlements will provide opportunities for farmers to cultivate their crops and rear livestock, thereby increasing food production and reducing poverty.”
“The GRFFNF has also established a network of agricultural extension services, which will provide farmers with technical support and training on modern farming practices. This will enable farmers to improve their crop yields and increase their income.”
“Furthermore, the GRFFNF has partnered with various organizations to provide farmers with access to markets for their produce. This will enable farmers to sell their produce at competitive prices, thereby increasing their income and improving their livelihoods.”
