LawrenceGrace Foundation has provided empowerment to 130 widows in the Ojora community in Lagos State. The foundation at its  quarterly events for widows gave free medical consultation and medication, free empowerment training, health talks, free gifts of food items to cushion the effects of hardship on the beneficiaries.

The event was tagged ‘Day out with Ojota Community women’. The convener, Oluyinka Adewoye, in her remarks, said the LawrenceGrace Foundation is founded primarily on touching lives positively, reaching out to widows and indigent school children in less privileged societies by providing healthcare, free medications, empowerment programs and free gifts to support them in their livelihood.

Adewoye said, “We have been to several local governments in Lagos and outside Lagos in the last five years, all with the aim of alleviating  their level of poverty and empowerment for the widows.

“Today is a special day to celebrate with and put smiles on the faces of over 130 widows in Ojota community. This is one of our quarterly events for widows. Today’s event would feature free medical consultation and medication, empowerment training, free health talks, free gifts of food items to help alleviate the food shortage and lack of proper health care .It’s also an opportunity to put smiles on the faces of the widows.

“We count it worthy to hold this event in this community this season  as a result of the economic hardships and lack of good health care a lot of widows are faced with. We give them empowerment training that can help to become a source of Livelihood. They would be trained on how to make soaps and various healthy drinks they can make for commercial purposes”.

The convener thanked everyone that has supported the foundation to put up the event to put smiles on the faces of several families today.

“Our happiness in Life doesn’t come from the amount of material possessions we have, but on how many lives we are able to impact positively and show our care to. Our major focus in the foundation is to put smiles on the faces of the less privileged and impact them positively and by God’s Grace today marks another opportunity to achieve this goal,” Adewoye said.
