Forest guards in Kwara State have implored Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq to facilitate the comprehensive implementation of the forest guards’ security apparatus as approved by the Federal Government.
The forest guards are tasked with safeguarding the state’s woodlands from criminal elements that threaten parts of the country, among other functions. It is recalled that President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a forest guard security team in all the states of the federation to safeguard Nigeria’s forests, many of which are currently infiltrated by terrorists.
Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the chief forest guard in the state, Mallam Abdulwaheed Araromi, said that the endorsement by President Tinubu will bolster security and protect lives and property across the nation.
He characterised the initiative as a proactive and community-focused strategy to confront the pervasive insecurity afflicting the country.

Araromi also extended his gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his assistance, urging the state government to expedite the full deployment of forest guards in Kwara to eradicate criminal syndicates that have taken refuge in the forests for nefarious activities. The chairman also praised the contributions of the Special Adviser on Security to the governor, Alhaji Aliu Muideen, the chairman of Asa Local Government Area, Alhaji M. B. Yahaya, and other local government area chairmen for their support during the training of his members.
He called for the support of the chairman, Kwara State Traditional Rulers’ Council and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, while also expressing gratitude for his prayers.
