A pregnant woman should eat a balanced diet comprising of equal proportions of Carbohydrates (Yam, Rice, Eba, Amala, Fufu, Tuwo) with Protein (Eggs, Meat, Chicken, Fish and Milk), Fruits, Vegetables as well as nuts. She should also drink plenty of fresh water and take adequate amount of rest. In addition, she should make every effort to avoid eating too much of fried and oily foods as well as consuming fizzy drinks and alcoholic drinks. Smoking should also be off the menu of a pregnant woman as well as uncooked fish meals (Sushi) which may cause allergy in pregnant women.
