Chief Executive Officer of Lukom Integrated Services Limited, Mr Lukman Kolawole, has emphasised that the nation’s farmers must embrace advanced technology and mechanization to boost the food supply, thereby making food more affordable.
Kolawole made this assertion while addressing journalists in Ibadan regarding the current high food prices.
He expressed bewilderment at the fact that some farms still rely on crude tools such as hoes and cutlasses, whereas the standard practice in developed countries involves the use of tractors and other equipment that can significantly expedite and simplify the farming process. He lamented the waste of man-hours on tasks that could be completed more efficiently with advanced tools.

In addition, Kolawole mentioned that Lukom Integrated Services Limited continues to identify underutilized land parcels suitable for agricultural purposes. He emphasized that Lukom leverages innovative land management techniques and sustainable farming practices to transform lands into vibrant agro hubs.
