An old post of Ajuri Ngelale, one of the aides to the former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, refuting purported claim that President Bola Tinubu appointed him as spokesperson, has resurfaced.

This comes just as he took to his Twitter handle on Monday following his recent appointment as special adviser on media and publicity to President Tinubu.

TRIBUNE ONLINE earlier reported President Tinubu on Monday appointed the former aide in the immediate past administration.

Ngelale’s appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Monday by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) and signed by the Director of Information of the office, Willie Bassey.

Checks by our reported reveal Ngelale had openly rejected working under the current administration saying “I do not accept such a role again”.

“PUBLIC NOTICE I have received congratulations from people regarding fake news circulating that I have been appointed into government once again as a Spokesperson. It is FALSE. Please disregard. Nothing of such has occurred, and I do not accept such a role again. Thank you,” the Tinubu’s new media aide had posted on social media in June.

However, further checks confirmed the tweet has been taken down on Twitter while leaving the post on Facebook as seen below.

Speaking on his latest appointment in a Twitter post on Monday night, Ngelale thanked Tinubu and promised to give his best in the service to Nigeria.

He wrote: “I am most humbled and honoured by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recognition of the need for more hard work ahead as I have been appointed as his Official Spokesperson & Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity.

“I will give 🇳🇬 my best as always. I love you all”.
