Relationships are built on love, trust, and communication between both partners. However, not all relationships last, and sometimes one person begins to lose interest.
Although it is often difficult to accept that a relationship is going south, recognising the signs early can help you make better decisions about what to do next.
In this article, Tribune Online takes a look at five signs that your boyfriend may be falling out of love with you.
He stops communicating regularly
The importance of communication in a relationship can never be overemphasised. It is one of the key pillars that keeps love alive. A fading level of communication is often the first sign of lost interest.
According to eHarmony, around 48 per cent of breakups are linked to poor communication. If he no longer calls, texts, or checks in the way he once did, it may mean he is no longer emotionally invested.
He avoids spending time with you
Another strong indicator is when he starts making excuses to avoid being with you. If he no longer looks forward to meeting up or spending quality time together, it shows his priorities have shifted.
In a healthy relationship, partners naturally enjoy each other’s company. When this changes, it could mean he is no longer into you.
He stops showing affection
Affection, whether it is through hugs, kisses, compliments, or small caring gestures is an important part of love. If he no longer makes an effort to express affection, it could mean his feelings have changed and he is becoming emotionally distant.
He gets irritated easily
When someone loses interest, even little things can suddenly seem irritating. If he frequently becomes annoyed over minor issues, criticises you unnecessarily, or shows impatience, it may be a sign that he is drifting away.
He talks about a future without you
In committed relationships, couples usually plan their future together. If he begins to make plans that exclude you, avoids future-oriented conversations, or shows no interest in building a life with you, it is a clear indication that he is no longer invested.
If he suddenly starts saying ‘when I’ instead of ‘when we’, it might be a sign you are no longer part of his future plans.
