No fewer than five people have been reported dead, with many injured as a result of an explosion at Talata Mafara market in Zamfara state.
It was gathered that the explosion occurred around 3 pm when people were busy transacting business at the Talata Mafara weekly market, Mafara town local government headquarters of Talata Mafara in the state.
An eyewitness, who narrowly escaped the explosion, Mallam Muawuyya told Tribune Online that the explosion started near a tent of blacksmiths.
“The explosion occurred at the blacksmith tent in the market, I’m very lucky I just left the place when I had of explosion and fire started burning.
“As I’m talking to you now, we discovered five dead bodies who were burned to ashes, and more than 50 people have sustained serious degrees of injury, this is a very serious and devastating moment for us,” he said.
