A Nigerian-based social enterprise, Kidpreneur Africa Nigerian delegates recently visited the Nigeria High Commission in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.
After the completion of their annual three-day summit tagged ‘Africa Kidpreneur Summit 2024’ with the theme: ‘Maximising the potentials of next-generation entrepreneurs and leaders’ which was attended physically and virtually by young people from across 12 African countries.
The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kidpreneur Africa, who was also the convener of the Africa Kidpreneur Summit 2024, Juliet Vincent-Obi, revealed that the 12 African countries that attended the summit were: Zambia, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Namibia, Ethiopia, and Senegal.
The Charge dÁffaires a.i., Mrs Bukola Ejiwale, and other officials of the High Commission received the Kidpreneur Africa delegates.
Vincent-Obi told the Charge dÁffaires that her organisation provides opportunities for young African children to showcase their entrepreneurial skills.
She informed the High Commission officials that the Botswana summit provided children with a unique opportunity to learn from successful business leaders and entrepreneurs through workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions.
“They gained valuable insights, engaged in hands-on activities, and discovered the necessary tools and resources to turn their creative ideas into profitable businesses, achieve financial independence, and create a positive impact on society,” she said.
She further said that apart from their financial literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership, and digital skill development programmes, they have recently introduced green environment and business into their programmes.
Vincent-Obi told the officials of the Nigeria High Commission that part of the summit’s events included visits to embassies of the various countries that attended it in Botswana.
While welcoming the delegation, the Charge dÁffaires a.i. lauded the effort and commitment of the CEO of Kidpreneur Africa, Mrs Vincent-Obi, in raising young entrepreneurs and for choosing to host this year’s Summit in Botswana.
She also commended the young entrepreneurs for their creative mindset and urged them to remain true to themselves as they pursue their dreams.
She assured the organisation of the High Commission’s readiness to offer support whenever the need arises.
Other officials of the High Commission applauded the initiative and encouraged the organisation to also seek support and collaboration from relevant government agencies in Nigeria.
Among the Kidpreneur Africa’s young delegates were 14-year-old Maxwell Anyanwu, CEO of Maxcode links; Joshua Ololinuyi, CEO of Joshua Art Academy; Esther Oloniluyi; Atara Uyaiabasi King, founder of Atara Talks; and Sarah Mbuotidem King, founder of Bead It.
Others were Olumide Oloniluyi, Abosede Oloniluyi, Israel Oloniluyi, and Ola Ejindu.
Kidpreneur Africa is a Nigerian-based social enterprise that empowers young African innovators aged 7 – 18 years through financial literacy, leadership, skill development, and entrepreneurship training.
