In a bold stride toward bridging Nigeria’s financial knowledge gap, JJ Trust Finance has empowered over 1,000 secondary school students in Ado-Ekiti through its Financial Literacy and Inclusion Campaign, held throughout May and July 2025.

The initiative targeted five prominent schools, Providence Secondary School, Excel Loftier College, Delightsome Oaks Schools, New Creation College, and Blucrest Secondary School delivering practical, engaging sessions on money management, savings culture, budgeting, and youth entrepreneurship.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which promotes decent work, economic growth, and financial empowerment, the campaign sought to inspire young Nigerians to develop wealth-conscious mindsets early. Students were not only introduced to the principles of smart money habits but also challenged to think critically about how these skills can shape their future opportunities.

Leading the sessions was Ms. Olayemi Joy Olamide, the dynamic CEO of JJ Trust Finance, whose interactive teaching style and relatable storytelling made complex financial concepts accessible. Her ability to connect with young people transformed the campaign into an inspiring movement for change in financial behaviour.

To reinforce the value of financial education, JJ Trust Finance also celebrated academic excellence in finance-related subjects, presenting prizes and certificates to outstanding performers in Economics, Financial Accounting, and Business Studies. In addition, each student received a Savings Planner Pad; a practical tool to help them track their income, spending, and savings goals making the lessons learned immediately actionable in their daily lives.

Beyond classroom learning, the campaign showcased digital financial solutions designed to encourage consistent saving habits in today’s tech-driven world ensuring students are not only informed but also equipped with practical tools to take charge of their financial journeys.

By reaching over 1,000 students across these schools, JJ Trust Finance has made a significant investment in the future workforce nurturing a generation that is not only academically prepared but financially empowered. The organisation remains committed to extending this impact to more schools and communities across Nigeria, building a legacy of youth who are ready to thrive in the modern economy.
