In a move towards advancing sustainable real estate development, Novarick Homes has become a corporate member of the Green Building Council Nigeria (GBCN), furthering its commitment to environmentally responsible housing solutions. GBCN is a membership-based organisation dedicated to transforming the built environment in Nigeria by advocating for practices that are environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable. As part of its mission, the council aims to eliminate these barriers by incentivising the adoption of green building practices.
Commenting on Novarick’s corporate membership, Chinedu Obasi, Executive Director at GBCN, noted, “We are pleased to welcome Novarick Homes as a corporate member. Their commitment to sustainable building aligns perfectly with our vision of transforming Nigeria’s built environment through green practices.”
As part of this membership, Noah Ibrahim, CEO of the company, has been inducted as a professional member of the GBCN. Speaking on Novarick Homes’ new status as a corporate member, Ibrahim expressed optimism about the role green building practices can play in shaping the future of real estate in Nigeria.
“Our mission at Novarick has always been to provide eco-friendly, affordable housing solutions that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable environment. Becoming a part of GBCN is a natural extension of this commitment,” Ibrahim stated.
“By ensuring that all our projects are Edge Certified, we aim to reduce energy, water, and material costs, while creating long-term value for our residents and mitigating the environmental impact of our developments. Edge Certification, an internationally recognised green building rating system, will now be implemented across all Novarick Homes projects.”

GBCN is part of the World Green Building Council, a global network of over 70 national councils, including 12 across Africa, that collaborate to promote green building initiatives. The organisation addresses key barriers in Nigeria’s construction sector, including a lack of technical expertise and access to green building materials, through education, partnerships, and the creation of relevant standards. GBCN has identified several challenges within Nigeria’s real estate and construction sector, ranging from unregulated markets to the unavailability of green materials.
