The Director of Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Hassan Ahmad Muhammad, has stated that three lives were lost while four lives were saved during a fire outbreak in November 2024.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Service, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, a copy of which was made available to the press in Kano on Wednesday.
According to the statement, property worth N132 million was destroyed by fire during the period. However, the agency reported that property worth N310 million was saved from 43 fire incidents recorded in November.
The statement emphasised that the service responded to five emergency calls and six false alarms from residents of the state.
The agency then advised the general public to handle fire with care and ensure that fire and electrical appliances are turned off before leaving their premises, especially for those who cook and sell food at night.
Alhaji Abdullahi also urged motorists to drive with caution at all times, particularly when travelling for the Christmas holiday, to avoid road accidents.
