Fintiri bans shipping, transportation of building materials to neighbouring countries

Following the rising rate of building materials in Nigeria, Governor Umaru Fintiri, of Adamawa state has banned the ferrying and transportation of building materials across border communities to neighbouring countries boarding the state.

He stated this in a press statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Mr Humowashi Wonosiko made available to Tribune Online describing the activities as economic sabotage.

“This action is contributing to the surge in the prices of building materials.”

He, therefore, directed all security agencies operating in border communities to intensify surveillance and stop trucks from the mass movement of all building materials to neighbouring countries.

Stressing that the government will not hesitate to impound vehicles or ferries caught conveying such items across the border and prosecute anybody found wanting.

Fintiri who expressed concern over the activities of the unpatriotic Nigerians urged the public to assist security agencies in combating the menace.
