THE Federal Government has been called upon to honour the recipient of the 2017 medal of engineering excellence award by the World Federation of Engineering Organisations (WFEO), Engineer Ifedayo Akintunde.
This appeal was made by the National President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engineer Otis Oliver Anyaeji, while speaking with Saturday Tribune, at the reception held in honour of the recipient at the functions hall, Jogor centre, Ibadan, on Saturday.
The World Federation ofEngineering Organisations (WFEO) is an international, non-governmental organisation representing the engineering profession worldwide, and founded in 1968 by a group of regional engineering organisations, under the auspices of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisations (UNESCO) in Paris. The World Federation ofEngineering Organisations (WFEO) brings together national engineering organisations from over 90 nations and represents some 20 million engineers from around the world.
Akintunde was represented by his children during the decoration at the WFEO 2017 Awards in Roma, Italy at the WFEO Gala dinner on 2 December 2017 during the General Assembly meetings.
Akintunde, according to WFEO’s website is a Fellow of Nigerian Society of Engineers, the British Institute of Civil Engineers, the Nigerian Academy of Engineeringand Member of the American Society of Engineers. He is quoted in at least four World “Who’s Whos”.
