THE challenges posed to the nation by the terrorist acts of nomadic herdsmen need to be addressed urgently.
The herdsmen have been rated as the fourth deadliest terror group in the world and have committed series of atrocities, especially between 2015 and now. They have become lawless and deviant.
They have engaged in rape, murder, arson and brigandage and have caused many families and communities untold agonies.
Indeed, 12 out of the 23 local government areas in Benue State are now said to be under the vice grip of the deadly terror group. How can the nation continue to tolerate these criminals? States like Ekiti and Benue have been forced to enact laws to tackle the menace.
The Federal Government must demonstrate firmer resolve when dealing with issues of grave national security.
