The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has intensified efforts to safeguard lives and property in line with its Renewed Hope Agenda.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who was represented by Salamatu Gbajabiamila, wife of the Chief of Staff to the President, spoke on Monday at the National Christian Youth Leaders Conference held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.
Addressing Christian youth leaders from across the country, Senator Tinubu emphasized the role of the Church and young believers in promoting unity, nation-building, and moral regeneration.
“The government has redoubled its commitment to the security of lives and property. The Church remains an ally in nation-building. Our pulpits, prayers, and programs are the incubators of the moral regeneration Nigeria needs,” she said.

Drawing from the conference theme, “Let the Truth Set You Free,” she urged Christian youths to reject hatred, ethnic distrust, and religious intolerance. She encouraged them to use their platforms, particularly social media and community engagement to promote peace and national cohesion.
“To our Christian youth, I urge you to speak the truth boldly against the lies of division. A house divided against itself cannot stand,” she added, expressing optimism that Nigeria would emerge stronger and more united.
Earlier, the National Youth Leader of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), Ambassador Belusochukwu Enwere, in his keynote address, called for urgent and decisive action to halt the killings and violent attacks affecting communities across the country.
Speaking on the recent designation of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” by former U.S. President Donald Trump over the killing of Christians, Enwere said the moment calls for sober reflection and balance rather than confrontation.
“We stand on behalf of millions of Christian youths to say: stop the killings of Christians. Stop the killings of Muslims. Stop the killings of all Nigerians. Every life matters. No citizen should be abandoned to the weapons of criminals,” he said.
While acknowledging the pain of affected communities in Plateau, Benue, Kaduna, and other parts of the country, the youth leader stressed the need for collective responsibility and accurate narratives.
He also commended ongoing government efforts to foster peace, including interfaith dialogues led by the Nigeria Inter-Religious Council (NIREC), but urged security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering and community protection.
“To our leaders and security commanders, we appeal, act now. Strengthen intelligence. Equip the armed forces. Punish collaborators. Protect the people. Make security a priority above politics,” Enwere said.
He urged Christian youths to champion unity-building initiatives, interfaith town halls, and digital campaigns that reinforce national cohesion, stating that “truth must be a liberating force for peace, justice, and hope.”
