The Federal Government has fulfilled its promise to the Super Eagles, allocating housing units and plots of land to the Super Eagles players for their outstanding performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Côte d’Ivoire.
The NFF confirmed that the players, who finished as runners-up, received certificates for the plots of land and housing units from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Nigeria finished second at the AFCON tournament, which was played in 2024, after losing 2–1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final.
Tribune Online reports that this gesture remains part of the government’s commitment to rewarding excellence in sports and supporting athletes who represent Nigeria on the international stage.
The Super Eagles players were also conferred with the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger (MON).
Some of the players who benefited from this pledge include Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, Paul Onuachu, Calvin Bassey, and Alex Iwobi, among others.
The documents were presented to the players at their camp in Fez, Morocco, on Monday.
