FG approves Yahasalam’s security outfit for private guard

A private security outfit, Giraffe Vigilant Guards Limited, established by a leading security expert in Osun, Alhaji Hussein Yahasalam, has been approved by the Federal Government.

The security outfit, which had been at the forefront of providing private guard to Nigerians and contributing to internal security arrangement across the country was registered as a corporate entity by the Ministry of Interior, through the office of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

By this new status, according to a top official in the Ministry, Giraffe Vigilant Guards is being recognized in the face of the law as a private guard, to complement the efforts of various security agencies in Nigeria towards safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerian populace.

According to the source, the security outfit would do more of local intelligence gathering and tactical operation.

Speaking further, the head of the security outfit, Alhaji Hussein Yahasalam, appreciated the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and the Commandant General of the NSCDC for considering his organization worthy of registration to complement the efforts of formal security agencies.

He, therefore, pledged his unflinching commitment to security of lives and property of Nigerians in collaboration with government’s security agencies in all communities of the country, through virile local intelligence gathering mechanism.

“I really appreciate the good gesture of the Minister of Interior and the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, for considering us worthy for registration as a private security guard.

“As someone with great passion and penchant for internal security surveillance through local intelligence gathering, I want to say that this recognition is an impetus for us to do more of what we have been doing in the last three decades”, Yahasalam concluded.
