The Federal Polytechnic Idah in Kogi State has received books worth over 45 million naira, donated by Book Aid International and Books 2 Africa, both United Kingdom-based non-governmental organisations.

The Rector, Dr Yahaya Usman, represented by Associate Professor M.I. Yusuf, the Deputy Rector of Academics, inspected the books at the institution’s library and expressed gratitude on behalf of the management for selecting the polytechnic as one of the beneficiaries in North Central Nigeria.

Speaking further, he noted that the donated books would enhance the institution’s Central Library, helping it meet accreditation standards. He also urged other organisations to follow the example set by Book Aid International and Books 2 Africa.

The Polytechnic Librarian, Mr Bitrus Bature, highlighted that the books donated by Book Aid International would benefit both the Federal Polytechnic Idah and the Polytechnic’s primary and secondary schools, while those from Books 2 Africa would serve the Management and Business departments.

Present at the inspection of the books in the Central Library were the Deans of the Schools of Business Studies, Environmental Studies, Technology, Engineering, and other senior staff of the Polytechnic Library.
