A former chieftain of the Labour Party, Honourable Bankole Fasuyi, popularly known as Hon. Banky, has empowered women, artisans and People Living with Disabilities with various items, including cash gifts.

This is as he empowered a sizable number of women and artisans in line with the programmes of Omituntun 1.0 and 2.0. reached out to thousands of women in Ibadan North-West Local Government Area of Oyo State, donating food items to celebrate Christmas and the New Year with them.

The gesture, according to Fasuyi, is a way of appreciating the tireless efforts of women in their homes and communities and a commitment to supporting grassroots households in a tangible way.

“These food items are a small token of gratitude for all that you do every day. We will continue to sustain this support,” he said.

Beyond the festive outreach, Fasuyi, a former Labour Party (LP) aspirant in 2023, who recently joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), commended the state governor, Seyi Makinde, on the unveiling of the Omituntun 3.0 agenda.

He described it as a continuation of the people-focused governance that has positively transformed lives across the state.

Speaking during the 2025 Oyo Mega Praise, an annual end-of-the-year thanksgiving service in Ibadan, Fasuyi highlighted the achievements of the Omituntun 1.0 and 2.0 initiatives, which inspired his defection to the PDP.

He urged residents of the local government to support the new agenda ahead of the 2027 general election, promising that development and inclusive governance will be maintained.

Fasuyi added that Makinde’s Omituntun agenda has earned national recognition through sector-specific reforms that strengthen the economy and improve public services.

Fasuyi reaffirmed his commitment to advancing grassroots development under the PDP platform, emphasising that lasting progress is built when government and community members work hand in hand.

While expressing appreciation on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Grace Atanda assured Fasuyi that they will always support him on his aspiration.
