The Fakorede family held a burial for their late mother, Mrs Eunice Modupe Fakorede, recently, as well as a remembrance ceremony for their late father, Mr Abudu Fola Fakorede, who died 19 years ago, in Lagos. Attended by family members in Nigeria and abroad, as well as friends and well-wishers, the El Shaddai event centre in Ojokoro, Abule Egba, Lagos, was filled with dignitaries from all walks of life. They exalted the late Mrs Fakorede, whom many described as a doting mother and grandmother to her children, and in-laws.
“She had a hold on us. She was always there, ever since we lost our father almost 20 years ago”, said Segun Fakorede, one of the children of the 80-year-old mother. The two-in-one celebration of the life of Eunice Modupe Fakorede and 19 years remembrance of their father was a fanfare of sort as Ojokoro, Abule Egba area of Lagos State, was locked down for hours of entertainment. They’re survived by children and grandchild.
