Nigeria’s Federal Airports Authority (FAAN) has launched upgraded mobility support, including wheelchairs and dedicated assistance, to cater to aged travelers, people living with disabilities, and other passengers needing movement aid in airports nationwide.
This development was announced on Monday in a statement via X (formerly Twitter), by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Obiageli Orah.

According to her, wheelchair services will now be available from check-in through boarding and on arrival, while dedicated staff will provide guidance and support.
She added that priority would be given to such passengers at security checks and boarding gates.
The statement reads, “We care about your comfort and convenience. Special arrangements are available for passengers with disabilities, senior citizens and travellers who require wheelchairs or mobility support.
“Wheelchair services are provided from check-in through boarding and on arrival.
“Dedicated staff are available to offer guidance and support.
“Priority is given at security checks and boarding gates.
Orah further disclosed that accessible facilities, including restrooms and elevators, have also been installed in airport terminals to make air travel more convenient for all categories of travellers.
She also urged passengers requiring assistance to inform their airlines or airport staff ahead of time or make their requests at the special assistance desk upon arrival.
