The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commissioned a newly constructed car park at the Administrative Building of Port Harcourt International Airport (PHIA).
The event was led by the Regional General Manager/Airport Manager (RGM/AM), Mrs. Ezike I. Lydia, in the company of departmental heads.
The commissioning marks another major step in FAAN’s efforts to upgrade airport infrastructure nationwide under the leadership of its Managing Director, the first-ever female czar of FAAN, described by staff as a “transformative leader”.
Speaking at the event, Ezike highlighted the remarkable transformation of the facility and the raising of standards in airport infrastructure.
“We all know what this place looked like before now. It was rough and unsafe. Cars would sink in mud and staff often left with their clothes soiled. Today, what we have is a modern, beautiful, and functional car park that speaks to FAAN’s vision for improvement and expansion of airport infrastructure”, she stated
She added that the project is a demonstration of management’s dedication to ensuring passenger convenience, staff welfare, and improved service delivery across the aviation sector.
She praised FAAN’s leadership commitment to excellence, describing the commissioning as part of an era of progress at Port Harcourt International Airport.

In her words: “This is an era of commitment to development, an era of commitment to convenience, and an era of commitment to improving passenger experience and staff welfare. We are deeply grateful to FAAN management, ably led by our own ‘Mummy Kuku’, for making this possible.”
Overly, FAAN is responsible for the management of airports across Nigeria, ensuring safe, efficient, and world-class air transport services. With ongoing investments in infrastructure and passenger experience, FAAN remains committed to making Nigerian airports global hubs of excellence.
