THE immediate former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, has described the Thursday verdict of the Supreme Court which validated the election of President Bola Tinubu as fascinating.
He said the verdict had addressed all complaints from the aggrieved political players and their supporters.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday, Chief Oke cautioned against further distraction of the president who, according to him, is determined to lead Nigeria out of the myriad of challenges confronting the nation.
He said: “While I congratulate President Bola Tinubu, his wife, Oluremi, and the vice president, Senator Kassim Shettima, on this monumental victory at the courts, I would like to enjoin them and their team to remain focused and ensure that all well-meaning Nigerians are carried along because the task of actualising the ‘Renewed Hope’ mantra is a daunting one.
“President Tinubu has a track record of service and as a goal-getter, he will deliver on his promise to rebuild the country and restore its long-lost glory in the comity of nations. As citizens, we need to be patient with Mr President in view of the economic hardship being experienced by the people across the country.
“It is important to note that the decision to remove subsidy on fuel by the current administration triggered the new wave of inflation but we should all know that it was a step taken in the right direction with a view to turning things round for the country.
“As a matter of fact, President Tinubu has laid a sound foundation for his administration to achieve its set goals and all things being equal, citizens and residents of the world’s most populous black nation will have a cause to smile very soon.
“However, relevant stakeholders, including politicians and influential people in the society, should refrain from any act capable of frustrating the genuine efforts of governments at all levels which are aimed making life comfortable for all and sundry.”
