A statement yesterday in Lokoja by the State Chairman of NUJ, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh and Secretary, Seidu Adamu, said the theme of lecture slated for June 1 and 2 is “The role of the media in the fight for a crime-free society”.
According to the statement, the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello would be the distinguished guest of honour while a former Director General of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Dr Tom Adaba is to chair the event.
The statement added that the event would feature presentation of papers by the state Commissioner of police, Mr Wilson Inalegwu; Kogi State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara (Rtd); the Sole Administrator of Ajaokuta Steel Company, Engr. Joseph Onobere while the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina is expected to deliver a keynote address at the event.
It noted that media executives expected to grace the event include NUJ National President, Comrade Waheed Odusile, Mrs Eugenia Abu of the NTA, FRCN Zonal Director, Ibadan, Alhaji Muhammed Bello; Zainab Okino of the Blueprint newspaper, Chief Tunde Olusunle, Mr Tunde Ipinmisho of the Federal Housing Authority, Abuja and Funke Egbemode of the Nigerian Guild of Editors.
