A former chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State, Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has expressed his condolences to the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the passing of its chairman, Isaac Omodewu.
In a condolence message through his media office, Aleshinloye lamented the loss of a community leader who lived an admirable life of service. The immediate past ALGON chairman noted that the deceased was a fine gentleman, passionate and committed to the growth and development of the state.
“As a commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy and Land & Housing in Oyo State, Omodewu demonstrated unwavering commitment to the ideals of development. Likewise, as the party chairman in the state, he demonstrated loyalty to the party,” he added.

He urged APC members, the family, and the people of Otu to take solace in the fact that Omodewu lived for the betterment of mankind.
Additionally, Dr. Olamide Junaid, a House of Representatives hopeful from Ibadan North Federal Constituency, described Omodewu’s death as a rude shock and a calamitous development. She described the late chairman as an astute political administrator and a hardworking gentleman.
“One virtue that set him apart was his relentless and cherished desire for peace and unity among the party’s stakeholders, and by extension, among all party members,” Junaid added.
She mentioned that Omodewu passed away at a time when his services were most needed, particularly in the peace and reconciliation processes within the party.
She added, “The vacuum created by this unfortunate loss will be difficult to fill. Omodewu’s wise counsel, sense of humor, and fraternity with the party members across the board will be sorely missed.”
While sympathizing with the late chairman’s immediate family, party hierarchy, friends, and well-wishers, she urged them to find solace in the fact that “God giveth and taketh.”
In her final remarks, she encouraged party members at all levels to remain steadfast in finding solutions to the challenges confronting the party in Oyo State.
