The Etsu of Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, has described an Oyo State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Chief Saheed Oladele, as a forthright and brilliant young man whose service and leadership are needed in Nigeria to push the country forward.
Alhaji Abubakar, who is one of the most influential traditional rulers in Nigeria, made the statement when Oladele paid him a courtesy visit.
The Emir said he was happy to receive Oladele, the Baameko of Ibadanland, whose contributions to education in Nigeria has attracted his attention.
The monarch lauded Chief Oladele for his confidence and determination over his governorship aspiration, saying that this is an auspicious time for a vibrant young man like him to plunge into politics and arrest the rot in the country’s political space.
The Etsu of Nupe pledged his support for Oladele in his quest to become Oyo State governor in 2027. He offered prayers to God to grant him resounding success in his aspiration.
Responding, Chief Oladele expressed gratitude to the Etsu Nupe for his support and words of wisdom.
“Our meeting was far more than courtesy, it was a moment of intellectual uplift that I will carry with me as I journey forward in service,” he stated.
He appreciated the monarch’s “kind of leadership anchored in faith, humility and wisdom, the kind that leaves a lasting legacy.”
