The Chairman, Transition Committee of Etinan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Uko Umoh, has commended state governor, Pastor Umo Eno for extending projects and appointments to Etinan people.
The chairman gave the commendation while addressing the crowd who thronged Ikot Akpabio community at the weekend, during the handing over of ‘Arise Compassionate Home’ to one of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Affiong David applauded the governor for the vision to uplift people in the rural areas.
Umoh assured the governor of support of Etinan people to his administration and second term, having benefited so much from his leadership in the last one year.
“Your Excellency, by giving this woman a befitting home, you have increased her life-span. The people of this local government are happy for the numerous things you have done for us.
“The only way we can pay you back for all you have done to Etinan Local Government Area is to deliver hundred percent votes for you during your second term election.”
The local government chairman appealed to the governor for the construction of paramount ruler’s residence and palace.
Umoh donated the sum of N200,000 to the beneficiary with household items.
In his remarks, the state governor, represented by the Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong expressed commitment to touching more lives in the state.
The governor appreciated the people of Etinan Local Government Area for their support and promised to do more for them.
The governor’s wife donated the sum of N500,000 to the beneficiary.
Responding, the elated beneficiary, Mrs. David, thanked Governor Eno for giving her a dwelling place, adding that the house is a prophecy fulfilled.
Others who gave goodwill messages were the paramount ruler of Etinan, Edidem Aniefiok Akpanobong, Dame Ime Essien Udom and Mrs. Ime Eseme Essien.
