THE Police in Enugu have arrested three youths for allegedly stealing a trunk load of petroleum product.
It was learnt that the suspects were picked up by the law enforcement agents at Obollo-Afor in Udenu Local Government Area of the state following a tip off.
Confirming the story on Monday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Ebere Amarizu, gave the names of the suspects as Lazarus Odinaka, Emodilichukwu Eze both from Nsude, in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State, and one Ifeanyi Ilo of Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Amarizu said that the three suspects allegedly conspired amongst themselves to steal a “Mack tanker truck”, with registration number AKU 264 XA belonging to SAKO oil and Gas Onitsha from where it was packed at Onitsha-Owerri Road, Onitsha, Anambra state.
“It was further gathered that the tanker truck was parked at the company filling station, where the hoodlums struck and stole the truck from where it was parked.”
“And through intelligence information, the suspects were promptly nabbed by the Enugu police command operatives at Obolloafor, and recovered the said tanker truck. Suspects are now helping the police in their investigations just as a full scale investigation has commenced into the incident”, he added.
