Embrace progressive growth, shun disunity in Nasarawa — Aide

The Nasarawa State government has issued a cautionary message to individuals and groups, warning against sowing seeds of disunity among party members and the general public.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Affairs, Comrade Peter Ahemba, emphasized that Governor Sule does not consider religion or tribal affiliation as the basis for appointing officials into his government.

In an effort to strengthen the machinery of the government and expedite policy implementation for the benefit of the State, the governor has thoughtfully nominated men and women from across the 13 Local Government Areas to form his cabinet.

Ahemba stated that the government, under Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule is committed to treating all segments of society fairly and implementing promises outlined in the National Economic Development Strategy (NEDS) agenda.

The statement pointed out that the Governor, after extensive consultations with stakeholders, has chosen seventeen (17) individuals for screening and possible confirmation as Commissioners in the State House of Assembly, in accordance with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Ahemba stressed that the government appreciates the courage, loyalty, and commitment exhibited by the people of Nasarawa State, along with the substantial support given to Governor Sule’s administration by party members.

He acknowledged the State’s abundance of human and natural resources, which can effectively support the Governor’s vision, and highlighted the availability of qualified technocrats and intellectuals capable of serving in various capacities.

However, due to the limited number of slots for commissioners, numerous qualified party members could not be appointed at once.

Ahemba called for understanding from the people of the State during this time and assured them that Governor Sule’s open-door policy and inclusive leadership style would continue to assign committed party members to different strategic roles within the administration, even beyond commissioner portfolios.

The State is poised for greatness, especially with ongoing oil exploration and other significant initiatives by the Governor.
