FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation, Nigeria Chapter, has inducted 20 new members into its fold, with a charge to embrace professional code of conduct, international best practices.
The event, which took place during the Annual General Meeting of the association in Victoria Island, Lagos, saw the President, FIABCI Nigeria Chapter, Mr. Akin Opatola, welcoming the inductees to a global family of real estate professionals committed to excellence.
Apart from embracing the professional’s code of conduct, Opatola intimated the inductees, comprising estate surveyors, bankers,lawyers, architects and finance people, of their responsibilities to the association.
He reeled out various opportunities awaiting the new inductees in the journey of professional practice.
He said:”To our inductees being welcomed today, I extend my warmest congratulations. You are joining not just an association but a global family of real estate professionals committed to excellence. I encourage you to immerse yourselves, engage actively, and let your membership open new doors of opportunity and growth.
“I want to let you know that you need to be active, you need to pay your dues, you need to respond when we call for full participation. We also have councils where you can also be active.
“We’ll be having elections within the next few months,” he said, urging them to contribute their quota in terms of leadership.
“Since the beginning of the election, the real estate sector has grown,” he said.
According to him, the successful candidates being inducted had passed through the screening, interviews and tough processes before bringing them forward.
“From the time of the World Congress till now, there are about 20 of them now that have been successful. So, we’ve given them their lapels, they’ve sent in their lapel pins all the way from France, they’ve been acknowledged, we’ll send their names to Paris also, so that we can also create them also on the FIABCI App, which is an opportunity for being a member. We also reeled out this opportunity for our members too, to know what we’ve done regarding our chapter activities within the last 12 months,” he said.
FIABCI is a global business networking organization for real estate professionals, fostering international collaboration and knowledge sharing across various sectors of the industry.
Speaking at the forum, President, FIABCI, African and Near East, Mr. Adeniji-Adele, said the inductees should count it worthy to be members of the international organization.
He said the occasion has presented a moment for members to reflect and consolidate on the success and visibility gathered for the FIABCI World Real Estate Congress hosted in Nigeria recently.
He urged members to remain united to achieve and stand tall in the global real estate sector.
The new FIABCI World President, Mr. Antonio Campagnoli, thanked the Nigeria Chapter for giving chance to FIABCI to grow in the country.
Opatola said the association has been putting out the positive narratives about Nigeria, adding that this would be intensified in the next three weeks during the trade mission in Italy.
“So I want to let them know that things are happening here in Nigeria, we’re ready for business.
“If you go to the free trade zone now, where Dangote is playing actively, you’ll notice that electricity is 24 hours. They have fantastic roads, they are adding to the infrastructure in terms of the Lagos-Calabar highway, and there’s also the fifth and seventh roads that will take you straight to Benin City.
“So a lot of people don’t know, they know the challenges of doing business in Nigeria, but that place takes care of almost everything.
“In fact, it’s almost a turnkey in terms of industrialization. For industry that wants to come in, you want to set up your factory, almost everything is already set up for you, and you can just easily hit the ground running.”
