Following the death of a house officer at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos Island, Doctor Vwaere Diaso, the deputy gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State, Princess Abiodun Oyefusi has called for a complete overhaul of the governance framework at each of its institutions and facilities.
She made this call in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos.
It would be recalled that Diaso died on August 1 after the elevator she had taken to pick up her food from a vendor fell from the 10th floor, killing her.
Oyefusi said the framework is what builds effective and efficient institutions, systems, and policies to ensure regular maintenance and sustenance.
She described the unfortunate incident as uncalled for and an avoidable one if the government had been seeing to regular maintenance of its facilities.
Oyefusi said “this is what makes those countries great and every serious government must adhere to strict maintenance.”
She, therefore, commiserated with Vwaere’s family and colleagues over the loss, praying to the almighty God to comfort them.
