Elena Maroulleti, Yemisi Shyllon, Dinah Lugard, others emerge winners at inaugural Yessiey award

Elena Maroulleti, a Greek Cypriot American independent journalist/reporter and founder of AKTINA FM has emerged as Yessiey Personality of the Year, Dinah Lugard is a remarkable figure in the fields of electrical engineering, cybersecurity, and now, as the driving force behind ‘The Cure Initiative For Individuals With Substance Abuse NGO’ and SoberTech was awarded “Yessiey Woman Of The Year”, Nigeria’s largest private art collector and founder of Oyasaf Yemisi Adedoyin Shyllon (Yessiey Art Personality of the Year), DK industries Group chairman and Nigerian Industrialist, Dekunle Okunrinboye emerged winner as the “Yessiey Man of the year”

Other winners include Mabel oboh, a Nigerian Vectran broadcaster and African democratic congress (ADC) Political party in Nigeria, national publicity secretary (Yessiey Media Personality of the Year), Andrew Lucky Elerewe former chairman of Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) and the association’s current national vice-president of the North Central Zone (Yessiey Real Estate Entrepreneur of the Year), Kofoworola. A. Beckley (Yessiey Realtor of the Year), Abayomi Mighty (Yessiey Public Speaker/Writer of the Year), Olubukola Akinpelu Aka Mylifeassugar (Yessiey Entrepreneur of the year), Ujawal Jha Nepali Social worker (Yessiey Humanitarian Personality of the year) etc.

Yessiey Awards is owned by Yessiey magazine. It is an achievement award in diverse fields of human endeavor. Yessiey is a celebration of exemplary exploits and recognises accomplishments such as firsts, inventions, discoveries, honors, awards, and the truly extraordinary.

It also recognises young role models who selflessly transform the lives of others for the better. It encapsulates yessiey belief in the power of young people and focuses on her ‘kindness, compassion and service’.

Yessiey encompasses an extensive range of information, in fulfilling its role as a tribute to the unique achievements, and is thus divided into several chapters and record categories. Prospective entries under these chapters and categories may fall under any of the following three headings – a record, a piece of information, or a unique talent. Yessiey stands for the pinnacle of excellence in every sphere, both human and natural, that can be qualified in superlatives, including but not limited to the first, last, unique, best, oldest, largest, and most.

In his welcome address at the ceremony in Lagos, Oluwaseun Olaegbe commended the awardees for their efforts at deploying Innovative ways to make positive impacts in their various communities.

Explaining the vision that birthed the awards, Oluwaseun said, “This event is to honour individuals and organisations that are impacting in innovative and impactful ways.

According to him, “The Yessiey Awards (YA) aim to recognise those who are pushing the boundaries to make impacts. Whether it is spreading joy, raising awareness for important causes. or simply providing useful information and entertainment.”
