THE Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Gombe State has warned the general public against any violence during and after the announcement of results of the general elections.
Mrs Altine Umar, the state Commandant of the Corps gave the warning while briefing newsmen in Gombe on Wednesday.
She said the command would deploy over 700 personnel for the election and anyone caught causing violence would be prosecuted.
The commandant called on religious leaders and traditional rulers to talk to their followers to be law-abiding towards ensuring free, fair, credible and peaceful elections.

She also called on politicians to be law abiding and accept the outcome of the elections in good faith as there must be a winner and loser in every contest.
“I want to assure the public that the election will be peaceful going by the synergy among the security agencies in the state.
“We all prepared for the forthcoming elections in the state and there will be no compromise in the discharge of our duty.
“We have good synergy with all the security agencies in the state, all we need is a free, fair, credible elections in the state and Nigeria,” she said.
