President-General, Niger Delta Ethnic Nationalities, Mr Pereotubo Roland Oweilaemi, has, on behalf of the youths, called on President Muhammadu Buhari and people of goodwill to call the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, to order before things get out of hands.

He made the call on Thursday, at a press conference, in Warri, where the leaders of all ethnic nationalities in Delta State jointly alerted the world to hold Oshiomhole responsible should there be any breakdown of law and order in the state during Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

The group said the youths were worried that certain elements from neighbouring states were poised to foment trouble in the state come Saturday.
Tribune Online reports that the ethnic nationalities’ youth leaders comprised of Itsekiri Youths, Urhobo Youths, Isoko Youths, Anioma Youths and Ijaws Youths.

Oweilaemi, who also represented the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), urged Comrade Oshiomhole to stop meddling in the political affairs as well as steer clear of the state on March 9 to avert anarchy and total breakdown of law and order.

The youth leaders, including Esimaje Awani and Comrade Enudi Marcus of Itsekiri and Anioma youths, urged political parties in the state to refrain from bickering, but rather work together to collectively resist electoral violence and foreign interference.

They appealed to security agencies deployed to the state to obey the constitution, and maintain professionalism and neutrality similar to what was exhibited on February 23 which did not debar the electorate from exercising their franchise.

While admonishing Deltans to fearlessly exercise their voting right, the youth leaders  vowed to resist external and internal conspirators planning to cause mayhem on Saturday.
