#Election results: Umeh wins Anambra central senatorial election for Labour Party

The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared Senator Victor Umeh of the Labour Party winner of the 2023  Anambra Central Senatorial district election conducted last Saturday.
Announcing the result in the INEC office for Anambra Central Senatorial district election at Amawbia, the returning officer, Professor Chuka Enuka, said Senator Umeh polled one hundred and three thousand, six hundred and eight (103,608) votes to defeat other candidates.
Professor Enuka said Honourable Dozie Nwankwo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) polled sixty-nine thousand, seven hundred and two (69,702), votes to come second. In contrast, Senator Uche Ekwunife of the People’s Democratic Party came third with forty-nine thousand five hundred and thirty-two.(49,532), votes, while the APC candidate, Chief Kodilichukwu Okelekwe, and the YPP Candidate, Dr. Chinedu Umeadi, got 8204 and 6909 votes, respectively
He declared Senator Umeh the contest winner because he scored the highest number of votes cast in the election and fulfilled all the law requirements.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the result sheet was signed by agents of all the political parties that participated in the election.
