El-Zakzaky not expelled from ABU ― IMN Forum

Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky

Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement In Nigeria (IMN), South-West Zone, has said that the Shiite leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, was never expelled from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, describing such as another lie and unsaleable blackmail against the group’s leader, who is currently in detention at Directorate of State Security office in Abuja.

Chairman of the Forum, Mikail Yunus, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Lagos, even as he called on the Federal Government to do the needful by obeying court order to release Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife as directed by a Federal High Court, to enable them travel to any country of their choice  where  doctors would not be influenced by the government or anybody.

El-Zakzaky and wife were flown to India a few days ago for medical treatment but had to be returned as the Federal Government could not meet new demands the Islamic started making over there.

“We, therefore, call on the government to do the needful by obeying court order to release Sheikh Zakzaky and his wife as directed by Justice Gabriel Kolawole  of Abuja Federal High Court, so they could travel to any country of their choice  where  doctors will not be influenced by the government or it’s  foreign Masters, for medical attention.

“We are calling on the government to face reality of the genocide they committed in Zaria, Kano and Abuja and to stop committing  more mistakes and crimes in it’s consistent, failed and desperate efforts to bury   the unburiable lies and propaganda that pressure or intimidation can never bury or stop us from remembering till eternity,” he said.

Speaking on the allegation that the Islamic leaders, Sheikh Elzakzaky did not finish his programme at ABU, Yunus further described such as “one of the several and uncontextual lies” that the government led by President Muhammadu Buhari and “his co-trvellets have propounded to deceive only but fools and those that worship him that Sheikh Zakzaky was expelled from ABU on 2nd October 1979.”

“To put the record straight, Sheikh Zakzaky wrote his final examinations in ABU on 7th July, 1979, when sessions used to close in the University in September,” he said.

“During the ABU crisis in June of the same year, some students, including Shaikh Zakzaky missed some of their examinations. Hence these students were invited by the university to write the missed papers in November,” he recalled.

According to him, there is no iota of truth to claim that El-Zakzaki was expelled in October, about four months after his final examinations/graduation, querying how come the university invited him to write a rescheduled examination in November if he was expelled?

The Forum chairman pointed out that Prof. Ango Abdullahi, the then Vice-Chancellor of ABU “is still alive and still proudly calls Sheikh Zakzaky his student.”

“Truth is Sheikh Zakzaky graduated, after his successful examination, the results or CGPA of which was within the range of First Class,” Yunus said.
