The 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Adewole Adebayo, has declared his intention to run for president again in 2027, adding that President Bola Tinubu will be defeated in the next presidential election.
Adebayo, who seems confident in his bid, stated that everyone in the SDP is aware of his plans to contest the presidency in 2027.
He stated this during Arise TV’s ‘The Morning Show’ programme monitored by TRIBUNE ONLINE on Friday.
His declaration comes amid the recent defection of notable figures, including former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, to the SDP.
However, Adebayo remains unfazed, emphasising the importance of hierarchy in politics.
According to him, new members will have to learn from the party’s existing structure and adopt its unique style of politics.
“I’m not worried about the influx of people into the SDP. There’s what we call hierarchy in politics. When you join our party, you’ll learn from us as an ordinary member, adopting our unique style of politics,” he stated.
