Ekiti monarchs mourn Oore of Otun demise

The Ekiti state council of Traditional rulers has commiserated with the people of Otun-Ekiti, Moba local government area of the state over the demise of their monarch, Oba Adedapo Popoola

The monarch, who was a former chairman of the state’s council of Obas between 2006 and 2008 died on Monday at the age of 62.

In a statement signed by the Chairman of the Traditional Council, Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi, the Alawe of Ilawe – Ekiti and made available to Tribune Online, the council described the sudden exit of Oba Popoola as an irreparable loss to the Traditional Institution in the State.

Oba Alabi described the late Oore as an enigmatic and resourceful monarch whose contributions to discussions in the council could not be forgotten in a hurry.

“The passing on of Oore at the prime of his reign is no doubt a colossal loss to members of his immediate family, Otun kingdom, Council of Traditional Rulers, and Ekiti State in general.

“The vibrant and open-mindedness of the late Oore which made him a highly rated monarch in the State by his peers. His tenure as Chairman of the Council of Traditional Rulers in Ekiti State from 2006 to 2008 was a monumental success. Otun, his Kingdom, also witnessed unprecedented peace and quality development during his reign.

“The Traditional Council in Ekiti State will surely miss his unquantifiable contributions to the growth and development of the Traditional Institution in the State in particular and Nigeria as a whole, “the statement concluded.
