A member of the House of Representatives representing the Ekiti North Federal Constituency 2, Hon Akinlayo Kolawole, has stated that Ekiti State is fortunate to have Governor Biodun Oyebanji at the helm of affairs.
Akinlayo, who represents Moba, Ilejemeje, and Ido-Osi Local Government Areas, explained that over the past two years, the governor has demonstrated genuine leadership qualities with impactful governance policies and programs across all sectors of the state.
The lawmaker made these remarks while speaking with journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital, on the two-year anniversary of Governor Oyebanji’s administration.
He said, “The governor’s efforts to make our state an ‘Eldorado’ of sorts are commendable. We must all come together to appreciate and give our unwavering support to him so that Ekiti continues to flourish and progress.
“In the comity of states, Ekiti is fortunate to have a governor who truly cares, someone whose interests transcend party politics, who prioritizes Ekiti above politics, and whose primary focus is the well-being of all citizens. Governor Oyebanji acts altruistically and genuinely fulfills the aspirations of our people with passionate dedication.
“Without sounding immodest, Governor Oyebanji has, within two years, transformed Ekiti into an economic hub where peace and tranquility reign supreme. Today, Ekiti is one of the most desirable states to live in, and by the end of his tenure, it will continue to set administrative benchmarks.”

Akinlayo added, “Within two years, Governor Oyebanji has cleared a backlog of over N14 billion in gratuities, pensions, and arrears; initiated state-of-the-art projects like the flyover bridge, airport, ring road, and an 80-bed multipurpose hospital at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH); recruited over 2,000 teachers; provided counterpart funds for 65k RAAMP projects; procured patrol vehicles for the state Fire Service and Amotekun Corps; offered free healthcare to vulnerable citizens; increased salaries for both the State Fire Service and Amotekun Corps; and disbursed over N400 million in grants to 922 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), among other achievements.”
He continued, “Considering his landmark achievements within such a short period, his re-election seems assured. In Ekiti today, opposition exists only on social media, not at the grassroots level across wards and local governments. Governor Oyebanji is deeply rooted in grassroots politics.
“His exceptional native intelligence has helped him connect smoothly with the people of Ekiti, and I urge the people of Ekiti to support his re-election so he can continue his positive legacy.”
