Ekiti State Government has distributed free Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) forms and e-pins to no fewer than 3,000 candidates for the 2025 examination exercise.
The Wife of the Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji, who distributed the e-PINs to the beneficiaries on Tuesday in Ado-Ekiti, said the government committed N25.8 million for the purchase of the PINs from the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Oyebanji encouraged the beneficiaries to prepare diligently for the examination towards excelling in the examination in gaining admission to higher institutions of learning.
The governor’s wife noted that the initiative is a testament to the unwavering commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration to the educational advancement of the youths.
She said, “The sum of N16,627,000 was expended in 2023 for 3000 e-PINs plus administrative charges, N20,000,000 in 2024 and N25,800,000 this year.
“Education remains the foundation of sustainable development and key to unlocking the immense potential within the young people.
“Under the visionary leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, we have continued to implement progressive policies aimed at ensuring that every child in Ekiti State, regardless of background or socio-economic status, has access to good quality education.
“We are providing an opportunity for our youths to take the significant step towards their dreams for higher education and meaningful careers.”
According to her, “The government has consistently paid WAEC examination fees for SS3 students in public secondary schools, release of running grants to all public schools, capacity building of teachers to enhance teaching and learning.”
The Commissioner for Information, Ekiti State, Taiwo Olatunbosun, said the initiative is in line with the shared prosperity agenda of the Oyebanji-led administration towards ensuring the education development of the state.
Olatunbosun advised the beneficiaries to justify the government’s commitment and resources expended on them by succeeding in the 2025 UTME exercise.
