Ekiti commissioner seeks synergy among workers for effective service delivery

The Ekiti State government has called for synergy among civil servants to ensure effective service delivery to the people of the state.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. ‘Peju Babafemi, made this call on Monday during a special prayer session for workers in the ministry to mark the new year.

She urged civil servants to discharge their duties diligently to actualize the ministry’s mandate for effective service delivery.

According to her, the administration of Governor Biodun Oyebanji is committed to meeting the needs of public servants and implementing other welfare programs of the government.

Babafemi said, “The government of Biodun Oyebanji has been doing a lot to ensure that the needs of public servants are met. Salaries have been paid, the new minimum wage has been implemented, and other welfare programs of the government are ongoing.

“I charge them to give their best to their work. If you perform your duties diligently, especially since the government is doing its best, it will make a difference. This is a public servant-friendly government, and they are aware of it.

“For us in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, I can confidently say that officers here are responsible and committed to their work. The kind of service we render is service-oriented. While we have been doing our best, there is still room for improvement. We can do more to enhance service delivery to the people of Ekiti State.

“I held a meeting with the Heads of Departments, and we have already reviewed the work plans for the year. For the first quarter, we are hitting the ground running to ensure no stone is left unturned.

“The expectation is that they must work together as a team. Every officer in the ministry is important, including the office assistants.

“I encourage them, particularly the Directors, to imbibe the team spirit and ensure we work collectively to fulfill the Ministry’s mandate for effective service delivery to the people of Ekiti State.”
