Eleka
Speaking during an interaction with newsmen in his office in Ado Ekiti, he described his emergence as the PDP candidate as divine, noting that the Fayose-led administration, which he (Eleka) was part and parcel of, had no skeleton in its cupboard.
He said his emergence was as a result of a decision taken on a continuity agenda to further consolidate and build on the achievements of the present administration in the state, adding that it was not out of place for Fayose to have anointed him as his successor.
He spoke against the background of the fact that Governor Fayose had, at the inception of his administration in 2014, declared his deputy (Eleka) had no political ambition and that the two of them would leave office same day, with the latter not returning there.
The Ekiti deputy governor also disclosed He said it was just normal that Fayose endorsed him as his successor, to ensure continuity adding that governors across the country had, at one point or the other, successfully installed their successors.
When asked at what point did he decided to join the fray, Eleka simply said, “My answer is that when God says yes, no man can say no. Fayose is a man that fears God. Of course, he was talking as a human being when we first came in.
But when God talked to him that this was His own thought, he surrendered to the will of God.
I had a personal conviction of it as well.”
Speaking further, he challenged those who were making the insinuation as he said, “I have said it several times, they should come out with the tracks he wants to cover. If you are saying someone wants to cover his tracks, then make it known to the whole world the tracks he wants to cover.

“To me, there are no tracks to cover and this is not the first time someone will be supporting one of his followers to succeed him.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) that is shouting now, didn’t Senator Bola Tinubu support Babatunde Fashola? Everyone knew he supported Akinwunmi Ambode to become governor.
“So, what is new there? The most important thing is that my emergence is the will of God. if it is the will of God, then we key into it.
That is why I am very confident that I am going to win the July 14 governorship election because I am not going there by my strength. It is an issue that is settled by God almighty himself.”
