Eid-El-Maulud: Former Ekiti deputy gov urges Muslims to pray for Nigeria

THE immediate past deputy governor of Ekiti State, Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka, has congratulated Muslims in the country on this year’s Eid-El-Maulud, urging them to pray for the nation’s peace and progress.

Kolapo in a statement made available to Tribune Online in Ado-Ekiti on Monday said, “I want to remind Nigerians of the importance of respecting the faith and belief of all and enjoined all Muslim faithful and Nigerians in general to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for harmony, peace and progress of the Nation.

“Our Muslim brothers and sisters should go beyond seeing this festive period as mere merry-making time but as a period to intercede for the country through sincere prayers and absolute commitment towards making Nigeria great again.”

Prof Olusola urged Nigerians to always promote acts that enhance national integration and brotherhood.

“It is my belief that today brings happiness to all, especially our Muslim sisters and brothers in Ekiti State, Nigeria and around the globe,” he said.
