Eid-el-fitr: Police deploy 2,500 personnel across 25 LGs in Niger

In view of the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman, has ordered massive deployment of over 2,500 personnel, with operational assets to provide adequate security coverage at all Eid praying grounds in the 25 LGAs of the State.

They are also expected to provide security coverage at recreation centers, amusement parks, and other public places including critical infrastructures before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr.

The Police Boss has also directed
the Department of Operations, Area Commanders, Tactical Commanders, and DPOs, on Monday, April 8th, 2024 during the Command’s management meeting to deploy massively, including operational assets to dominate public places, ensure visibility policing with constant supervision, and embark on confidence-building patrol to all nooks and crannies of the State for a peaceful celebration.

The CP stated this in a Press statement issued and made available to Journalists on Monday in Minna by the Police Public Relations Officer of the State Police Command, SP Wasiu Abiodun.

CP Ebenezer Danmman further reiterated that horse racing within the metropolis will not be tolerated, but at the designated areas, just as he informed officers that an Operation Order for the occasion has been issued for necessary action and guidance.

The CP thereby felicitated Nigerlites and residents of the State, most especially the Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr., while he also appreciated members of the public for their support and called on the parents and guardians to warn their wards against any act that could disrupt public peace, stressing that the Police and other security agencies will be firmly on ground to surmount any act that may cause breach of public peace.
