Eid-el-Fitr: Don’t let hardship weaken your love for the country, PDP tells Nigerians

Published by

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has admonished Nigerians not to surrender to despondency or allow the hardship and misery in the country to weaken their love and support for one another but remain resolute in their hope and pursuit of a better, secure and prosperous nation.

In a message to mark the Eid-el-Fitr issued on Wednesday by Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary, the main opposition party

congratulated Nigerians especially the Muslim Ummah on the Eid-el-Fitr celebration, urging them to allow the virtues, values and lessons, observed, inculcated and imbibed during the Holy Ramadan Fasting to guide their everyday lives.

It said the Eid-el-Fitr offers citizens the divine pathway to re-dedicate to a life of love, forgiveness, abnegation, restraint, tolerance, temperance, unity, mutual understanding, peaceful co-existence, care and compassion for one another and most importantly, absolute faith, trust, and total obedience to the will and command of the Almighty Allah in all dealings.

The PDP said leaders at all levels must use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr for a deep soul-searching that re-awakens the virtues of honesty, transparency, justice, fairness and pursuit of the wellbeing of the citizens in the discharge of their duties especially at this critical time in the life of our nation.

“Our Party also calls on all good-spirited Nigerians and organizations to use the occasion to further extend the hands of love to the less-privileged, the dislocated and the hurting, so that the joy of Eid-el-Fitr can reach all,” it said.

The PDP prayed for the nation and wished Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
