Brand solutions architect and tech product manager, Egwu Nnanna and his team will be hosting the TEDxAjaoEstate event in Lagos on Saturday.
According to Nnanna, TEDxAjaoEstate is an annual event and the theme of this year’s event, which would hold in NIGAV Expo Centre, Murtala Muhammed Airport Road, is ‘A new different’.
He emphasised that he believes in creating value and practical solutions to some of Africa’s challenges through various channels, and that is why he was organising the TEDx event with his team who believes in his passion.
“We are in the post-pandemic era and there is a lot of talk about ‘A new normal’. Then we thought: why should we succumb to the normal, when we can have a new difference in Nigeria and Africa?
“They say ideas rule the world, and we want ideas from people who are doing amazing things in the country to be showcased to the world (from young professionals to veterans),” Nnanna said.
He stated that, because of the nature of TED, they have 13 multi-disciplinary speakers (from business, technology, sports, education, entertainment, leadership/governance, etc)
The major speakers that are expected to speak at the event include: Debo Macaroni (actor, comedian and activist), Nelly Agbogu (founder of NaijaBrandChick and social media influencer), Chris Ani (CEO of DABA and cryptocurrency investor and educator), Babajide Ipaye (CEO and cofounder of KEEX), Jumoke Dada (founder of TAEILLO), BEN Chiadika (award-winning filmmaker and director), Joshua Chibueze (cofounder of PiggyVest), among others.

He stated that some of the activities lined for the event include musical performances and poetry, to spice up the event.
